89. Hydrofoil boat trip from Peterhof
To reach Peterhof in the morning, we used a combination of the Metro and an inexpensive taxi service (Yandex Taxi, the Russian version of Lyft or Uber). On the way back to central St. Petersburg in the evening, we decided to travel in style via one of the more popular Peterhof transportation methods: hydrofoil boat. The craft left from a dock on the Gulf of Finland right at the end of the canal leading out from the Lower Gardens (and with a nice view back toward the Peterhof Palace), and dropped us off at the English Embankment near the Winter Palace in the city center. Along the way, we had great views of Kronstadt and the St. Petersburg waterfront. This was likely the fastest way home, and definitely the most picturesque.
